The surface is constructed with Caddock's Micronix® resistive film which is fired onto a flat ceramic substrate. This is mounted in the package so that the resistor element and the area where the terminals attach to the substrate are all covered in the molded body leaving the other side of the ceramic exposed but flush with the back of the resistor.
