Voltage Regulators

A voltage regulator as the term indicated for a device used for controlling the supply voltage in a system and maintaining it at the designated value. They are available as built-in electronic voltage regulators used with consumer appliances such as air conditioners, computers and refrigerators. Voltage regulators work at both LT and HT voltages. In the latter case, they stabilize the voltage in the power system connected to the substation.

In electronic systems, both positive and negative voltage regulators are used. For different current ratings, voltage regulators are available in various packages such as TO-92, TO-3 and others. Voltage regulators can be of fixed, variable and switched-mode types.
