Capacitors Temperature Codes and Characteristics
Very often you will see a three digit code next to the capacitance value and voltage for a capacitor. That three digit code can help you understand the temperature characteristics for that capacitor.
Some of the most common codes are:
X7R (minimum temp is -55°C; maximum temp is +125°C; value change over temperature is ±15%)
Y5V (minimum temp is -30°C; maximum temp is +85°C; value change over temperature is -82%, +22%)
Z5U (minimum temp is +10°C; maximum temp is +85°C; value change over temperature is -56%, +22%)
