OptoisolatorsThe OPI1264C has an 890nm infrared Light Emitting Diode (LED) and an NPN silicon Photosensor. It is sealed in a precast opaque housing with a optically transmissive path between the LED and the photosensor. This optically coupled isolator is used to transmit information between one power supply voltage and another where the potentials during surge conditions are not greater than the guaranteed isolation voltage.
