Item Specifications and Additional Information: DESCRIPTION / ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Knife Switches A knife switch controls the flow electricity to a circuit. It has a hinge that lets a metal lever or "knife" to be picked up or inserted into a slot. This is a double throw switch which means that there are 2 slots, 1 on either side of the hinge allowing it to be engaged either way. The hinge and slot are stationary and attached to an insulate base. The 'knife" has an insulated handle to grip when flipping the switch.
