Would you or your child like to learn first hand about renewable energy sources like windmills and wind turbines?

Here's a ready-to-build kit, perfect for ages 10 and up. Assembling this kit will teach the principles of wind power. When it's completed, you will have a fully functioning wind turbine that you put together yourself! This kit should take about an hour to build. Younger children may require some adult supervision.

When assembled, the wind turbine stands about 8 inches tall. It produces approximately 1.7V-2.5V which is enough power to light up the included bicolor LED.

The kit includes everything you need to assemble the wind turbine:
aluminum wire
prewound coils of enamel coated copper wire
ceramic magnets
bicolor LED
phillips head screws
wooden dowel
pre-cut wood
pre-cut cardboard
retaining clips
pre-cut double-sided tape
sandpaper
template sheet for the cardboard
instruction manual
