The MAX3097E is comprised of 3 high speed RS485/RS-422 receivers that have fault-detection and fault status features. Should the device not be in a valid state it will be detected by the fault thresholds on the receiver's inputs. This device detects the following RS-485 faults: open circuit condition, short circuit condition, low differential voltage and common-mode range violation.
A capacitor-programmable delay on the fault circuitry helps ensure there aren't any fault errors even at slow data rates. The receivers can each accept data up to a 32Mbps rate.
