Differential BUS Transceiver ICs

The LTC1485CN8 is a low power differential bus/line transceiver. It is designed for multipoint data transmission RS485 and RS422 applications. The combined impedance of a driver output and receiver allows for up to 32 transceivers on the Bus. The driver maintains high impedance in three-state or with the power off.

- 28ns Typical Driver Propagation Delays with 4ns Skew
- Thermal Shutdown Protection
- Power-Up/Down Glitch-Free Driver Outputs
- 60mV Typical Input Hysteresis

DC Electrical Characteristics (VCC=5V unless otherwise noted):
Differential Driver Output Voltage (Unloaded): 5.0V typ.
Driver Common-Mode Output Voltage (R = 27Ω or R = 50Ω): 0.2V max.
Input Current: ±2.0uA max.
Receiver Output High Voltage (IO = -4mA, VID = 0.2V): 3.5V min.
Three-State Output Current at Receiver (VCC = Max.0.4V ≤ V0 ≤ 2.4V): ±1mA max.
Supply Current (No Load; DI = GND or VCC)
- Outputs Enabled: 1.8mA typ.
- Outputs Disabled: 1.7mA typ.
Receiver Input Resistance (-7V ≤ VCM ≤ 12V): 12kΩ min.
Driver Short-Circuit Current
- VOUT = High (V0= -7V): 250mA max.
